Dr. Walter and his wife Judith have lived on Signal Mountain since 1982. It was that same year that Bob started teaching at Signal Mountain Junior High School. For the next 42 years, he served in a variety of educational positions, including those of classroom teacher, coach, assistant principal, principal, faculty director, and Director of STEAM. These experiences took place in public, charter, and private Christian schools. Bob’s wife, Judith, homeschooled their oldest two children, Ben and Joanna, through fifth grade. She also homeschooled their youngest daughter, Rachel, through third grade and then had the privilege of teaching her in the 4th and 5th grades at Signal Mountain Christian School. Bob earned his Bachelor’s at Bluffton College in Ohio. He then went on to earn his Master’s from Trevecca Nazarene College in Nashville and his Doctorate in Leadership and Learning from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Bob was born in Arizona, grew up in Ohio, met Judith in Texas, and finally settled on Signal Mountain. Bob and Judith have attended and served at Signal Mountain Bible Church for 38 years. Bob and Judith have three adult children, a daughter-in-law, two sons-in-law, and four fantastic grandsons. Bob loves spending time with his family.
